Dissolved oxygen (DO) refers to oxygen gas that is dissolved in water. Aquatic species “breathe” oxygen just as land animals do and it is a very critical factor

for aquatic life.

Dissolved oxygen concentration in ponds fluctuates on a 24-hour basis. This fluctuation is called a diurnal oxygen cycle. Dissolved oxygen increases during daylight hours when photosynthesis is occurring and decreases at night when respiration continues but photosynthesis does not. Oxygen depletion occurs when oxygen consumption exceeds oxygen production. Increases in oxygen consumption can be caused by an overabundance of aquatic plants or algae in the ecosystem, “turnover” of a body of water , increased organic waste entering the water (i.e., manure from  feed  lots, septic tank waste water, and excess feed), death and decayed of organic matter (i.e., plant or algae die-offs), or by certain chemicals (i.e., formalin) that remove oxygen directly from the water. Low dissolved-oxygen concentration is recognized as a major cause of stress, poor appetite, slow growth, disease susceptibility and mortality in aquaculture species.

Composition: Sodium percarobonate

OXY BOOST Characteristics: OXY BOOST has a specific chemical composition that generates dissolved

oxygen slowly and thereby ensures a steady supply of the same. OXY BOOST releases oxygen as smaller bubbles thereby increasing the surface area of contact with the water. OXY BOOST active ingredient creates a powerful oxidation reaction that destroys algal cell membranes and chlorophyll, providing immediate control of algae. OXY BOOST breaks down completely and poses no environmental hazard.

OXY BOOST Benefits:

  • It releases oxygen steadily into the ponds
  • It reduces stress by providing the required oxygen
  • It reduces BOD levels in ponds
  • It resolves surfacing of shrimp and fish
  • It helps increase the molting efficiency and feed intake especially during the nights when DO levels fall.
  • Helps prevent anaerobes from multiplying
  • Helps reduce water pollution

Dosage:

1Kg/Ha Dosage and application can be revised based on conditions prevailing in the pond or based on the aqua specialists advise.

Storage:

Store in a cool and dry place. Keep away from sunlight Close the container after use.
